Who was Roy Lichtenstein?
Roy Lichtenstein was born in New York, and lived from 1923 - 1977. He became famous for his bright colored, explosive paintings of comic strip cartoons. He was part of a group of artists called POP ARTISTS because they made art about ‘popular’ things such as cartoons, food, celebrities, etc. Lichtenstein used the colors red, yellow, blue and green. He used thick stripes and lots and lots of dots in his paintings. |
